SUBMITTING ARTWORK
Artwork can be supplied in a number of fashions. Therefore, because artwork can be supplied in a variety of formats we have grouped our artwork recommendations under three categories: PREFERED, ACCEPTABLE and NOT ACCEPTABLE.
PREFERED
The following formats are the best types of files to send to us for they allow us to get your order out faster as very little is required to setup.
- Illustrator 9.0 or earlier with text converted to outlines (or fonts supplied for PC)
- EPS files (vector only)
- Corel Draw 9.0 or earlier with text converted to outlines (or fonts supplied for PC)
ACCEPTABLE
The following is a list of files that are acceptable but are designed for the computer screen and not for print and are generally too low in resolution to be usable.
- .JPEG - please ensure you are sending a high resolution (200 - 300dpi)
- .PDF - please keep the layers to a minimum or flatten image.
- TIFFs and BMPs are acceptable only if the image size is ideal (minimum 600dpi)
NOT ACCEPTABLE
We understand that not everyone has complete access to the internet, many of you work for company with heavy firewalls and are not able to upload large files or work with graphic limited programs. Though the following are considered not acceptable we will always try to make things work for you to the best of our ability so please feel free to contact us.
Non-graphic Applications:
- Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect and applications like Excel and Powerpoint are not graphic applications and cannot be used to generate artwork. Typically, a user will import a graphic into one of the above applications. It is the imported graphic file that is required and not the application file.
Photocopies and Stationary:
- Generally speaking, providing a fax, photocopy, letterhead or business card will more than likely involve the recreation of your logo to meet industry standards. Depending on the complexity of the logo, this may or may not require a substantial amount of work.
PLEASE NOTE: If your company logo has very specific colours please let us know which PMS (Pantone Matching System) colours you require. If you do not know your PMS colours you are welcome to stop by our office and talk with our graphic artist and he will gladly help you choose proper PMS colours.
